Sketchbook series

These works are stitched on painted cotton rag paper with collaged fabric, pictures and threads.  Each pair of images shows the front and back of the piece.  They were originally intended as pages in a book but I decided that they might look attractive displayed double sided; they were framed in a triple fold screen between glass and shown at Thirsk and Willesden.  You can see the screen in the entry Stitched Part 1 in my blog.


However, a screen is not portable so the pieces have been removed and the screen awaits new work, probably stitched and burnt pieces, designed to be viewed from both sides.  The pages of this series have now been stitched into a book and look good. After all, that is why I created them.
